Iron Smelter with stars trailing slightly

This is in Greenwood B.C. near an iron smelter. This one is also to show how much the stars trail over time. I begin by taking a short exposure, just letting the stars trail. If you do not want them to trail, keep your exposure times from 30 seconds to 1 min. This one was done at 2 mins and then the next at 5 mins, then 10 mins, then 20 minutes. If you know about astronomy, you may pick up that right behind the smelter is the pole star Polaris. So by successive photos, you will see how they circle this star.

How do you find Polaris? If you can spot the big dipper, find the top left star in the big dipper and follow it straight off until you see a bright star. That will be polaris. When your pointed at this, your pointed at the center star and all stars will revolve around it.

I used Fuji film at 100 ISO with F4 on a 28mm lens and a 2 min exposure with a 3/4 moon at my back.
